There's constant fear when working with pro-democracy leaders in authoritarian countries like #Uganda. Worst fears came true today when our friend Bobi Wine (BOBI WINE) was assaulted, allegedly shot by Ugandan police. Being an opposition leader is not and should not be a crime.

Huge and awful news out of Uganda, where opposition leaders BOBI WINE has reportedly been shot by Ugandan security forces.

This is terrible news. A really brave man, fighting for democracy against a brutal and corrupt regime

According to #Uganda police, Bobi Wine (BOBI WINE) 'sustained injuries ... [as he] stumbled while getting into his vehicle.' A thuggish and thoroughly shameless regime.

As you can hear in this recording, there was a clear order to "SHOOT HIM" before our President ⁦⁦BOBI WINE⁩ was shot! No amount of lies can cover up for this criminal action. Their intention was clear. - Admin

Update from Bobi Wine: He remains in the hospital, but has been stabilized. Tomorrow morning, he will have fragments removed from the injured leg, the result of being shot by #Uganda police today. This is just the latest assault on peaceful Ugandans who yearn for a better life.

BREAKING 🚨🚨🚨 The Harare High Court has granted bail for @namataik,Councilor Samuel Gwenzi and Robson Chere. The three had spent 35 days in pre-trial detention after their arrest on 31 July 2024 at Robert Mugabe International Airport.
