*Interesting* non move in overall CPI inflation numbers at 2.2% masking goods inflation going further negative, services inflation going back up … doesn’t include housing cost measures though which are at highest rate since this measure collected in 1992… rate decision tomorrow

The UK applies a wide range of tax rates to different forms of income, in effect taxing people on similar incomes very differently. Capital Gains Tax in particular is ripe for reform as some rates are unjustifiably lower compared to those on other forms of income.

Millions on average and above average earnings heading for big drop in income in retirement. For them auto enrolment rates aren’t enough. But do not propose higher contributions for low earners. They need the money now. Those too focused on pensions often miss this crucial point
