Before United Nations Human Rights Council 57 next week, I’m visiting the region discussing the human rights situation in #Afghanistan with diverse groups of Afghan women and men & also meeting experts and government representatives. After a fruitful few days in #Turkiye, I've now reached #Qatar.

In #Doha I had a constructive conversation with Professor Sultan Barakat on how to effectively support the people of #Afghanistan, the current human rights situation, and possible paths forward.

The attack in #Kabul on Monday is shocking. Nothing justifies such violence. My deepest condolences to the families of victims and I wish those injured a speedy recovery. Those reponsible must be brought to justice after a full investigation and a fair trial.
