Before United Nations Human Rights Council 57 next week, I’m visiting the region discussing the human rights situation in #Afghanistan with diverse groups of Afghan women and men & also meeting experts and government representatives. After a fruitful few days in #Turkiye, I've now reached #Qatar.
In #Doha I had a constructive conversation with Professor Sultan Barakat on how to effectively support the people of #Afghanistan, the current human rights situation, and possible paths forward.
I concluded a visit to Ankara, Istanbul & Doha; insightful meetings on #Afghanistan human rights with many Afghan women&men, diplomats, academics, etc. Now looking forward to my mandated briefing of United Nations Human Rights Council Monday 4PM(CEST) 6:30PM(Afn time).
