Leo Varadkar is set to take over as Taoiseach in December, so if Rishi Sunak becomes PM the photo of their first meeting will be quite something, marking a moment in which both Britain and Ireland are led by people of Indian heritage.

I'm not sure about the etiquette of this (I think I'm supposed to encourage folks to buy the actual paper rather than post pictures!) but here's me in Sunday Independent - made to look gorgeous by Clare Keogh, and warmly encouraged to tell my story by Michelle Fleming and Leslie Ann Horgan

‘I started chemo within 10 days of diagnosis. It was the only option on the table, other than dying’

I’m an ICU consultant. Working in general practice would scare the hell out of me. Dozens of risk management calls daily, based on the info from a 10 min consultation requires enormous clinical acumen. All with a government and press determined to belittle. Hats off to you all.

This is the most important book anyone could read. I’ve had to take a number of breaks while reading cause it really is a lot to take in. It will and should infuriate you. Nobody can look back in time and attempt to say we didn’t know how refugees were being treated. We know.

Honoured to have this moving, honest, funny piece from Sarah Fitzgibbon about being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at 37 in today’s Life magazine

MFTWD up for non-fiction book of the year & newcomer of the year in the Irish Book Awards. Again, I’m just so grateful more people are hearing about what is happening at Europe’s borders. Please consider learning about it if you haven’t already. Congrats to all other nominees

Thrilled to be here with the Irish 🇮🇪delegation in Frankfurt meeting publishers, agents, printers & more to promote Irish-based writers

The soft power of Irish writers is impressive....
....and behind every successful writer is a publisher who took a risk😊👏👏👏

5 years gone. Oh the belly laughs we had and those serious convos about American Music Club. The endless windups. Always the best of company. Much missed Sean Hughes I keep this photo on my desk.

This is an extraordinary book by ⁦Philippe Sands⁩. It is timely as an historical detective work of characters in Lviv in the murk of WW2 & the trial at Nuremberg. Even more timely, because it foreshadows the despicable war crimes being visited upon Ukraine today.
