For #sharkawarenessday I’m sharing a favourite shark dance. This blue shark stayed with us for an hour, Blue sharks are the most fished global species making up 60% of all shark catches, and 41% of the fin trade @oceana_uk Some populations are now critically endangered.

Releasing sharks from hooks and lines is sadly an all too common part of modern shark conservation. It’s difficult, time consuming and can be dangerous, but the hooks can destroy their jaws and end their feeding capabilities. From Shark with Steve Backshall Sky TV
