And now for some college baseball coaching news that does NOT have the drama equivalent of a Housewives of New Jersey episode, here is my piece on TJ Bruce getting hired as the LBSU Dirtbags new maestro... d1baseball.com/coaching-buzz/…
Getting my baseball fix with a California Collegiate League game at #JackieRobinson Field in the shadow of the #RoseBowl. We got the Arroyo Seco Saints Baseball hosting the Academy Barons on a pretty good night in Pasadena. And yes, they have a 374-foot LF foul line here.
In the 7th and Arroyo Seco Saints Baseball has a 2-1 lead on the Barons. Impressed by Hawaii Baseball RHP Danny Veloz who gave up 1 hit w/ 5Ks in 5.0 innings of work. Also, Saints 3B Easton Elliot (LBSU Dirtbags) has a 2B, a 1B and made 2 solid defensive plays. Pizza Port Brewing Co. Calif. Honey Ale.
The California Collegiate League Showcase Game displayed some of the most talented players from this little-engine-that-could collegiate summer league. Check out the players who are set to make big jumps in college ball next year: d1baseball.com/summer-basebal…
Doing the MLB thing at the Big A. Thru 1 inning the Oakland A's lead the Los Angeles Angels 3-0 thanks to Baylor Baseball’s Shea Langoliers’ 3-run bomb off Oregon Duck Baseball’s Tyler Anderson. (Sorry, don’t have my big camera with me… feels weird to go to a game without it). Stone Brewing
Breakfast at Blair Field Here for the 38th Area Code Games, also known as THEE Summer Classic. Five days of the best future college and MLB players on display. Perfect day in Long Beach, 66° and sunny. Tho I will say, the field here at Blair is really torn up. Area Code Baseball
HISTORY For the first time since 2016 and just the 2nd time in Area Code Games history, we’ve got a no-hitter. Four pitchers combined to help the Texas-based Rangers beat the N’west-based Royals 2-0, with zero hits. Ethan Baioto (Texas commit) led with/ 5Ks Area Code Baseball
A couple of firsts here in LB 1- our first home run of the games. Louisville Baseball commit Owen Jenkins hit a 103mph exit velocity screamer over the LF fence to help put the White Sox up 6-0 on the Nationals 2- First brew, from Brewery X in Anaheim Area Code Baseball
A couple more “firsts” at the Area Code Games… 1- see that 100 up on the scoreboard? Yep, Seth Hernandez is the first ACG pitcher to ever throw triple digits. 2- probably the biggest crowd at an ACG game plus first time I’ve ever heard crowds actually cheering Area Code Baseball
Friday Night Fireworks NoCal-based A's walk-off SoCal-based Brewers 6-5 thanks to Oklahoma Baseball commit Alec Blair's final inning RBI double: 1- The Swing 2- Brock Ketelsen (Stanford Baseball commit) scores GW run 3- The Mob of Blair begins 4- The shirtless hero Area Code Baseball
It was a day of "firsts" at the Area Code Games on Friday, including a no-hitter, the rare walk-off win and a crowd that actually cheered. (It's usually quiet as a mausoleum at this showcase). Check out my Day 1 wrap from the Area Code Baseball d1baseball.com/columns/area-c…
Whole lotta more fun from Day 2 of the Area Code Games. Check out who won, who starred and who made more future $$$. Breakdowns of top commitments for... Gonzaga Baseball Washington Baseball Georgia Baseball Oregon Duck Baseball LSU Baseball Stanford Baseball Area Code Baseball d1baseball.com/summer-basebal…
Final day of the Area Code Games in Long Beach and the crowds of scouts/coaches is now a skeleton crew. My bud JP_YankeesGirl will be giddy the Northeast-based Yankees team won the Area Code Baseball title with a 5-0 record capped by a 6-3 win over the Northwest-based Royals.
How do I know college football is back? Because those sideline reporters and their useless halftime interviews that coaches mostly find bothersome are back again. College Football ESPN College Football theCHIVE
It is with profound sadness I hear of the passing of former Rice Baseball head coach Wayne Graham. I got to know him & Tanya pretty well and this is a tough loss. He initially wanted to go into architecture, so I always marveled at how meticulous he filled out lineup cards.
Okay college StitchHeads, any thoughts on the College Baseball Hall of Fame going up in Overland Park, Kansas? Wot say yew. CollegeBaseballHoF NCAA Baseball D1Baseball College World Series of Omaha
