Policy idea: given the high carbon cost of its production, how about we end/tax the use of artificial fertiliser for animal feed and biofuel crops, and save it for human food crops? Would save a lot of carbon and focus a lot of minds on what to grow and how to grow it!

So, in order to change SFI schemes from the ‘23 to ‘24 options, I first have to remove the ‘23 options from that land before I apply for ‘24 options I’m not certain of getting anyway. Might forego SFI23 only to be told I can’t get into SFI24! There must be a better way RPA
