"The San Diego River watershed will receive about 300,000 acre feet of water, enough to serve about 500,000 homes for a year IF THERE WAS A WAY TO CAPTURE IT ALL, said Marty Ralph, director of CW3E Scripps. (caps added 4 emphasis) sandiegouniontribune.com/black-ice-on-i…

We have #AtmosphericRivers to thank for all this recent rain! 🌧️ The team from CW3E Scripps says we are at 31 atmospheric river events so far this water year (11 weak, 13 moderate, 6 strong, 1 extreme). Here is the map of where and when they all hit. ⬇️
Such a good interview by Rosanna Xia w/ new and first-ever female leader of the California Coastal Commission. "It’s not in the settler mindset to think about land changing in this way, and our private property laws reflect that mindset." latimes.com/environment/ne…

Thank you The San Diego Union-Tribune for cutting through the complacency on our region's priority clean water crisis.
🚆 On #TransNetTuesday, we're highlighting the vital #LOSSAN corridor. 🌊 Safeguarding our coastline is a top priority for #SANDAG. Landslides & erosion have posed rail safety challenges. 💪 Thanks to leaders like Senator Toni Atkins & Rep. Mike Levin, we're securing the tracks. 🚄🌟
Julie Patton Lawson 💙 True that. We gotta link up with some state legislators to patch a few holes in the state bag ban. Upgrade the definition of “reusable” to get rid of these so-called reusable plastic bags, raise the pass-thru fee from $.10 to at least $.25, or both. That would be an improvement.
Calling on Gavin Newsom @cagovernor to sign SB 704 to end special treatment for oil development in the coastal zone. We have suffered the effects of offshore spills and toxic water pollution long enough! #endtheaddiction #drillingiskilling Dave Min california.surfrider.org/blog/sign_sb704
Thanks The California Coast for having WILDCOAST speak about TJ River crisis today along with Surfrider San Diego YMCA San Diego Outdoor Outreach Azul and the awesome IB Mayor and CC commissioner Paloma Aguirre (she/her/ella)!!
