1) Some facts about the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity (OLC), co-founders of Ruhama. In 1993, 155 women were exhumed from High Park Magdalene Laundry to make way for a property development. 🚨154 women were cremated, in many cases 2 to a coffin, all in aid of cutting costs.

3) OLC claimed there were no relatives to inform about the exhumations, but families disputed this at the time. Moreover, the cremations & placing of many women 2 to a coffin has rendered it impossible for family members to identify (or reclaim) their relatives.

4) 154 of the exhumed women were subsequently reinterred at Glasnevin on 11/09/93 at a private ceremony. Just 2 days later on 13/09/93 members of the Srs of Our Lady of Charity were signing CRO docs to establish Ruhama.

5) Most of the exhumed women remain unaccounted for & OLC have refused me access to their archives. Instead of investigating properly, the McAleese Committee accepted the 'nothing to see here' findings of OLC's own researcher (see 🧵). x.com/cmcgettrick/st…

6) Moreover, both OLC & the Good Shepherds refused to contribute to the Magdalene redress scheme. I could go on, but the point is I'm not seeing any evidence of remorse, learning or compassion. Thus, Ruhama's co-founders have no business being involved with marginalised groups.
