No journalist should be unsafe doing their job — much less a journalist who is a college student covering their own campus. This is deeply upsetting and absolutely unacceptable.

UCLA has a lot of explaining to do.

It took almost four hours for police to arrive at UCLA.

Outrageous and unacceptable. When the dust settles on the story of tonight, this is one detail that must be included—a galling failure UCLA leadership should be confronted over.

This lack of response is the most remarkable part. Frankly astonishing.

I just called UCPD for a statement on the ongoing violence in Dickson Court.

The response: “No, absolutely not.”

They hung up before I could ask another question.

UCLA UPDATE 🚨: Still ZERO law enforcement present, dozens of people needing medical assistance, and this man appears to be bleeding profusely in his right arm. Security ordered to stand down, no LAPD presence. A Jewish woman said multiple men assaulted her, no security help.
