Body-focused repetitive behaviours such as #skinpicking, #hairpulling and #nailbiting are common, yet little talked about! Check out this comic on the issue of scars and the summer 😍 You are not alone and have right to be happy in your body! #BFRB #dermatillomania #scars

I was on Drivetime RTE on Friday talking about Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours. It's always scary being on national radio, especially about such a sensitive topic, but knowing it might make a difference in even one person's life makes it worth it: rte.ie/radio/radio1/c…

I'm in Oxford today with Louise Lyons recording video conversations at the #OxBFRBconf meeting. It's the start of something amazing, which will help people affected by Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours, and raise awareness of BFRBs, which are largely ignored & stigmatised

A highlight (from 2 days full of highlights!) was the 'scientists with lived experience' panel, where there was time to reflect and respond to audience questions. Our chair, Prof John Geddes, commented on the 'uniquely powerful' combination of expertise and lived experience.

On Day 2 we staged a take-over of the Department of Psychiatry for our community event. The pace was gentler, and Dr Bridget Bradley and the team did a truly incredible job of designing and leading a day which informed, empowered, connected, supported and inspired our community.

Can you help us get this research right? We don't have good information about how many children are struggling with BFRBs like hair-pulling, skin-picking, nail-biting etc. This is a chance to get information from a very large no of people across England.
