5. 23–26 Spoon-billed Sandpipers were recorded annually in winter (2011–2015) and only 3 birds in summer, which raises the question whether the immature birds are exposed to a wider range of threats during migration, away from the main wintering grounds. ,

5/6 But what is the advantage of spinning in the same direction as your nearest neighbour?
A substantial reduction of conflict in the three species! And potentially an increase of feeding rates.

Results:
1. V positive responses from Snipe, Redshank & Common Sandpiper.
2. Lapwing and Curlew returned to deserted sites – still need to achieve sustainable productivity.
3. Demonstrable success of a non-traditional conservation partnership.

Issues:
1. Habitat loss (agricultural intensification & under grazing)
2. Desertion from former sites
3. Low productivity

Addressed:

2. Adoption of more breeding wader sensitive sward management
3. Predator risk reduction - lethal/ non-lethal

If these are not just empty words, Your Excellency, then . It makes no sense & breaches SDGs, biodiversity targets, Ramsar Convention & EU law to build it on Portugal's most internationally important wetland used by 300,000 migratory birds shared with >20 states.

If you have sightings/tracking data, you can help with a review of the evidence of the site's international importance

The main prey consumed were polychaetes (mostly Onuphidae, Orbiniidae and Nereididae families), crustaceans and clams🐛🦞🦪
The composition was different among dates mainly due a consume peak of crustaceans on April.

AES prescriptions must encourage conservation grazing if we don't want to disappear. Saltmarsh must improve, and policymakers, researchers and managers need to work together to make this happen
