Today in #PHXD7, we’re revolutionizing the plastics industry with the opening of the Circular Plastics Microfactory— a first of its kind in the world! ♻️ Thanks to Arizona State University, City of Phoenix, AZ, GoodwillAZ & Hustle PHX, we’ll keep leading in circular economy solutions.

The #PHXD7 team is up early this morning volunteering for MAG - Maricopa Association of Governments’s Point in Time Count: a manual count of those experiencing homelessness throughout the valley. We join the Office of Homeless Solutions, CBI, and hundreds of volunteers — we expect final results in April!

As my Vice Mayor term comes to an end, I’m reflecting on all that we accomplished in 2023. Together, we delivered massive wins for every region of #PHXD7. We passed policies to address our housing and climate crises, improve the lives of working families & more ↓

My team and I spent nearly all 31 days of October out in the #phxd7 community! We kicked off the month with a quick trip to Texas to learn how they're tackling homelessness. From there, we hit the ground running!

This Veterans Day, I’m grateful for all our #phxd7 veterans — and those who have continued their public service with the City of Phoenix, AZ. From local businesses like Desert Tree Farm to organizations like VetsFWD, Phoenix veterans continue giving back to our community.

While #PHXD7 is seeing immense economical growth, it’s important to ensure our legacy local businesses stay and continue to thrive here. The highlight of my week was attending Desert Tree Farm’s 50th anniversary celebration out in Laveen!🌳

HISTORIC FOR PHOENIX: The passage of Let's GO Phoenix!’s $500M bond program will secure our city’s future as a sustainable & world class city. From new regional parks to fire stations, affordable housing & climate action, I’m so proud to have secured +$113M for #PHXD7 projects.

From the SistaLuv Mental Health Walk to the Grand Ave Festival, being in the #phxd7 community was the highlight of my weekend. Thanks to all the organizers who ensured each event was a success. It was great to see so many people connecting with local resources and nonprofits.

#phxd7 is home to most of the mobile home parks in Phoenix and I’ve been fortunate to visit several of them and meet with residents. Their strong community ties have held off displacement in the past, but these residents need more protections, particularly at the state-level.

We take extra time to celebrate their heritage, history, and culture this month. #phxd7 is fortunate to share our western border with the Gila River Indian Community, who are great partners in our shared goals of climate action, housing, and more.

This weekend, I celebrated Phoenix Pride & connected with our neighborhood block watches at GAIN events across #phxd7. The community weekend also included other special events: 🐶 The Arizona Humane Society society at their luncheon where I almost took home the cutest pup named Russet!

Tonight, I visited one of the D7-sponsored soccer classes at Smith Park with some surprise goodies from Phoenix Rising FC! 🌇 ⚽️ No better way to end the day than at golden hour with #PHXD7 families who are helping us build stronger, more connected neighborhoods.
