A thread of some of the shocking stats emerging from the budget...

Someone earning £1 million-a-year will be receiving a £55k tax cut – twice the average UK salary

Nobody who has paid attention to the extreme Brexiteers should be remotely surprised about what has happened today. For the Brextremists Brexit was always about slashing taxes for the rich, shredding regulations for the corporates, and hoping culture wars, slogans and bullshit1/4

So, appears Trump’s taxes were never under audit. If they were, the IRS needs new accountants. Just another Trump LIE . .

So, now the rabbit out of the hat: the top rate of income tax is removed. An income tax only for those earning over £150,000 a year. A 5% saving for them. A 1% cut for everyone else

Çimento tarafında bu ara işlerin çok yoğun gittiği yönünde bu hafta bir bilgi aldım. Sanırım bu sektörün ihracat tarafı da iyi gelecek.

Liz Truss' budget means that those earning a million a year will have £54,400 extra in their pockets after tax and NICs. For those earning £25,000, the equivalent figure is about £280.

Hard to imagine a worse response to a cost of living crisis.

This is why I chose to renounce my South African citizenship to take up German citizenship. All of this.

We pay extremely high taxes, but I can walk alone at 2 o’clock in the morning, I can get a university degree for practically free of charge, and I’ve never seen a pothole 🤷🏾‍♀️

From next April the 45% top rate of tax (applies to those earning £150,000) will be scrapped. So the top rate will be the 40% higher rate threshold.

This means mega earners, pay the same rate as those on £50,000.

Promising to make the rich richer by cutting taxes & uncapping bonuses for millionaire bankers the new Chancellor has also threatened to make the poor poorer by reducing benefits. Is this the kind of country we want?

I'm struggling with this 'mini' Budget. I'm largely pro cutting taxes + smaller government, but millions of families and businesses desperately need help thanks to disastrous energy policy + lockdowns.

So why cut taxes for the rich - the only people who don't need the help? 🤷🏻‍♀️

EXC Liz Truss is considering reintroducing the tax-free personal allowance for top earners.

Would amount to a £5,000 pa tax break for someone earning more than £125,140.

The allowance was abolished for the top earners by George Osborne in 2010.…

I wouldn't mind living in a country that has high tax if the tax works for you. Free and proper healthcare. Public transport that works. Visible policing and no potholes. In South Africa we are taxed like crazy and we have none of that
