My industry is going through a renewed attack by transphobes lately, so let me be clear, I don’t just support trans people, I find the very concept of trans hopeful, utopian, inspiring. There is no world that must be lived in if a better world is possible.

I cannot put into words how devastating this is for the disabled people and community advocates who fought so hard to get a commission in the first place, and then to tell their stories of pain and grief and inhumanity – only for this to be the result.

Being "able bodied" is temporary, you will age, you will get injured, you will get sick and you will wish you fought more for the system to protect the vulnerable.
