Just out of curiosity, do you prefer chatting weekly or every other week?
If we do every other week, is it hard to keep track? #pd4uandme
We set reading goals as a class so itβs fun to see how many books we have read at the end of the year and if we met our goals! #pd4uandme
Sometimes we take a short walk outside at the end of class. #pd4uandme Itβs hard to teach outside because we donβt really have a space for it.
I am not a movie person, sometimes I let them watch one on the last day of school. #pd4uandme
I can be more flexible in interventions. I let them choose stories and articles from SCOPE and ACTION magazines. #pd4uandme
I keep routines in intervention as well. We always start with independent reading and then move into a lesson. #pd4uandme
We have a big research paper left in English so we spend time in the library. It helps give us some variety in location. #pd4uandme
The last couple of years I did paper plate awards for my English class. Those were fun, but time consuming. I made the Ss guess before I revealed who it was. #pd4uandme
I would like to do another debate with 8th grade English. Last time (around the holidays), I had staff members come in and give them feedback for future debates. #pd4uandme
We continue our routines, so important. Everybody starts class with independent reading just like we have done all year. #pd4uandme
June is a tough month time-wise, there is so much going on, I start backwards planning for the 4th quarter so I make sure I get everything in! #pd4uandme
I try and sprinkle in some fun activities as well. I am hoping to do a collaborative writing project between my 8th grade English class and one of our pre-k classes in primary school. #pd4uandme
I also find if I keep things as normal as possible and am still teaching all the way to the end, things run a lot smoother and I continue to have engagement from the Ss. #pd4uandme
