I created a scholarship for Black 2SLGBTQIA+ students to meet their academic goals & enable them to live their lives authentically. Soon you'll learn that 3 students will be awarded $3k+ each in tuition based scholarships. My gratitude to everyone who made a contribution. 🙏🏾

Quick selfie with my pal Lois. We're supposed to watching the Stamps warm-up from the sidelines, but instead we're clocking the last 5 minutes of the Ti-Cat game. If you know, you know.

How will these SROs explain the shooting and subsequent death of a 15 year-old boy by the RCMP to his peers and equals at schools across Alberta? cbc.ca/news/canada/ed…

Egregious & expected. Bunch of belligerent brawlers. Calgarians who would vote for or validate a man like Devin 'Shields Up' Dreeshen probably don't take transit. That lab technician working at South Health campus, she needs the Green Line, not the colonial men who write op-eds.

Okay friends, things are a bit ugly, the Babylon people dem a knock yuh, so go see good theatre. Just go, fill your heart and mind. No one can bother you at the theatre. Big ups Makambe K Simamba & Handsome Alice for this long awaited show at Arts Commons. artscommons.ca/whats-on/our-f…

The word is out. Other police services and municipalities ought to take note & take a reflective pause. Can't even *imagine* how this happened with all the racist legislation on the books in Quebec. And those denials by politicians, what'll they do now? (Sarcasm intentional.)

The Calgary Transit Green Line would have been a tiara, necklace, bangles, cocktail ring, ankle bracelets, earrings, watch, and ruby & diamond wedding band. More than just a jewel...

I wonder if it is the word 'trans' that triggers the Alberta government into making economically, socially & environmentally poor decisions? Consider their struggles with: • transgender kids • transit • energy transition • ethical transparency They seem transfixed with fear.

Listen to & watch the CBC Calgary newscast until the 10m07s mark. cbc.ca/player/play/9.… Then read the op-ed by the anti-Green Line gang from August 9, 2024. calgaryherald.com/opinion/opinio… The Minister might as well have just read the op-ed, verbatim, in the interview.

Quote: "“...they are trying to mitigate potential litigation risk,”..." Didn't need to sweat a potential litigation (like in Spain), Alberta's renewable energy developers didn't take legal action against the government (yet), they just took their investment capacity elsewhere.

I attend St Stephens Anglican a faith community that is welcoming, inclusive, and embracing of everyone. We still have work to do, but we're doing it. We don't hide who we are, so we put a banner over the front door.  And yes, I sing in the choir. 📸 : Aryn Toombs / LiveWireCalgary
