London’s Science Museum forced to cut ties with oil giant – and faces pressure over other sponsors. Excellent news! The Museum’s intransigent and dishonest posturing over its links with Equinor,BP and Adani has brought it into terrible disrepute. theguardian.com/environment/ar…

BP's comms team will be pleased with themselves for this cynical PR "win" (Nobody mention the huge new oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and cutting back on renewables...) 🤫 "Shh now, look at the mooooon! One day, we're going to drill there..." 🌕

Continue to be a fan of Nick Cave and his music - but his supposedly profound statement about not taking a neutral position feels a bit hollow given his fence sitting in the past…

A very depressing reflection on the disgusting announcement from Labour today on their "border controls" is that the top lines and messaging that we've put out from various spokes is broadly indistinguishable from what we were putting out under the Tories a few months ago.

🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland’s cultural landscape is at risk of collapse. Vital support for freelance artists has been shut down and core funding for nearly 300 organisations hangs in the balance. Please sign our new petition to urge the Scottish Government to act now. campaignforthearts.org/petitions/scot…

Continued inaction & backtracking from Scottish Government means that Scotland’s cultural landscape is at risk of collapse. It's repeatedly promised to address arts underfunding, pledging “at least £100M more annually” by 2028-9: just 0.17% of current budget. campaignforthearts.org/petitions/scot…

Scrap the two-child benefit cap & lift 330,000 children from avoidable poverty. Reverse means-testing of winter fuel payments & protect millions of pensioners from fuel poverty. Nationalise water, energy, rail & mail, & put public need before corporate greed. Tax the rich.

Keir Starmer says he won’t shy away from “unpopular decisions” but it’s funny how the decisions are never unpopular to the super rich. After 14 years of austerity, Labour’s “tough choices” can’t yet again fall on the working class. It’s time someone else made some sacrifices.

BREAKING: The UK gov't has rightly recognised that approving the Rosebank oil field without taking into account the full extent of its climate impacts was unlawful. It has conceded that argument in our & Greenpeace's legal challenge against the field. So what does that mean? 🧵

Not a politician. Not a former banker. Not a corporate CEO. Someone with depth of experience in the arts and an understanding of how and why the sector needs to act on #climate. 🙌 theguardian.com/artanddesign/a…

BP or not BP? (@drop_bp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This. Is. Grim. 🤢 BP is cutting renewables. Putting billions into more oil and gas. But now, it’s desperately greenwashing its image…by sponsoring and renaming a music arena in Birmingham but using its EV charging brand! 🫨🛢️🎶

Reading news of Palestinians killed by Israeli drone strikes… …and then here, the Science Museum is sponsored by Adani, which partners with Israeli weapons firm Elbit Systems on the production of drones, and IWI on the manufacture of assault weapons. adaniwatch.org/the_adani_grou…

If you’re participating in or attending this Science Museum event, please reconsider. We must stop giving legitimacy to the Science Museum and its profoundly unethical partnership with an arms manufacturer fuelling violence in Gaza. x.com/imperialspark/…
