The John Wesley Institute is honored to announce that former Asbury Theological Seminary President Timothy Tennent has been named as Distinguished Scholar of World Christianity with the JWI. His roll will include an annual lecture in Washington, D.C.

Over the weekend, the JWI held the School of Methodism: Pennsylvania with 50 participants who came out to hear our director, Ryan N. Danker and Asbury U’s Brian Shelton speak on the history and message of the Wesleyan movement. A great success!

In January, the JWI gathered 75 scholars and church leaders from 12 different denominations to write a statement on holiness of heart and life. A subsequent editing process is now coming to a close. We look forward to the release of “To Spread Scriptural Holiness” this Fall.

The JWI now has a Board of Advisors composed of leaders from across the church, academia, the publishing world, and more. We’re thrilled to have Bishop Greg Brewer, Retired Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, Orlando, FL on the Board.
