Remember the "Buena Vista Bugle" – California Adventure's free, quarterly, in-universe 1920s newspaper? Now it's $20 to get a paper annual pass card. We were truly blessed to know DCA 2.0. What a time to be alive. 🪦 parklore.com/main/dca2

Eating cheesecake in a risen Atlantis / Ancient Egypt / Poseidon’s Fury is such a mood. 🥹 It’s true, Gen Z: even dinner at the mall used to be like going to a theme park. Over the top, highly-stylized maximalism was literally the default in the ‘90s!! 😭

If nothing else, an excellent encapsulation of Universal’s ability to “code switch,” and to pull off two drastically different parts of their identity both to the highest degree. And what I love about Islands of Adventure in particular is that it’s weird, but it works!

I feel so hopeful that the Pixar Promenade bandshell ia gonna be the entrance to the Coco ride, and that Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff will become its exit gift shop. 🤞

Pacific Point is one of my favorite ideas I’ve had – a land of antique amusements salvaged from boardwalks along the California coast. Then, Mystic Manor becomes Lord Mystic’s collection of historic dark ride props brought to life by the music of an enchanted carousel calliope.

Okay, literally overnight, all of my YouTube ad-blocker extensions broke and now EVERY YouTube video starts with an UNSKIPPABLE 1:20 ad, then a SECOND unskippable 30 - 60 second ad. Anyone else? What am I doing wrong? Why did we choose this instead of the future in movies?

Save your hate mail, but I think A Bug’s Land did everything the Toy Story Lands try to do, but better. It’s such a shame TSL became the de facto “shrunken” family land, because Bug’s Land was cuter, cleverer, shaded, personally-scaled, etc. For Members: parklore.com/vault/shrunk/
