Re: Matt Chandler *indiscretion*. I have counseled well over 100 pastors who were disciplined or fired for sexual reasons. Here is an absolute rule I found: Whatever they admit to is the bare minimum of what has happened. They only admit to EXACTLY what they were caught doing.

I love my home

Sometimes we think that that because people didn’t know how to love us well, we aren’t lovable; but the issue is that we are seeing ourselves through the eyes of others. They can’t love us, that doesn’t change our lovability, it should simply change our relationship with them.

You know what no one told me when I started lifting 18 months ago? How hungry you are. All the time.

This isn’t truth. It is an opinion.

I don’t think evangelicals understand that it was trying to follow Jesus wholeheartedly that led many of us to deconstruct. Whether you agree with our change of perspective doesn’t discredit this genuine transformative liberation—or daresay “salvation”—from harmful environments.

Being free from Christianity has been liberating, and then being free from deconstructing, to not even think about religion, has been the real deal.

“How would you like to lose friends, community, and experience trauma while your worldview crumbles, identity is in question, and your mental health suffers?” Oh, but sure, deconstruction is the ✨cool✨ thing to do

Be clear: Jesus ain’t white. America ain’t a Christian nation. There is no America without Black culture. Jesus wants us all free. The gospel is love and liberation. Whiteness can’t love us or save us. Kanye West doesn’t care about black people. Black Lives Matter.

Your worth is unaffected when you make mistakes. Your worth is unaffected when you are abused. Your worth in unaffected when you are not cared for. Your worth is unaffected when you are not loved back. Your worth is unaffected when your belonging from a group is removed.
