As always, I'll be over on substack making picks, chatting, and generally hanging around. Join in for free: zanesimon.substack.com/p/ufc-306-riya…

30-27 Rosas MMADecisions.com. Clearly the right step up for Rosas. He did fine, but struggled to create meaningful offense against someone that wasn't just a walkover. #UFC306

29-28 Chairez MMADecisions.com. All comes down to an insanely difficult round 2 where both men did tons of damage. I lean Chairez there since Van seemed closer to getting actually KO'd. But it's razor thin. @UFC306

This is what my friend and colleague Scott Fontana calls an Alternative Decision. Zellhuber won more rounds on the judges' scorecards, but lost the decision (two judges gave him the 1st and 2nd)

30-27 Lopes @MMAdecisions. Great performance from him. Ortega has always had trouble winning rounds, but it was made so much worse by Lopes' dynamic offense. #UFC306

50-45 Shevchenko MMADecisions.com. Not, as it turns out, a great fight to put in the co-main of the greatest combat sports event of all time. #UFC306

I honestly felt like most of these were pretty fine and probably fairly cool for live audiences. This one, though? It was silly, and bad, and felt like sloppy AI. Definitely ending the 'movie' on its worst note.

49-46 Merab Dvalishvili, or quite possibly wider if the judges are liberal with their 10-8 rounds. O'Malley had a few of the right ideas, but the foundation of his strategy was rotten

49-46 Merab Dvalishvili MMADecisions.com. Could almost make an argument of 48-47. But there's zero argument that Sean O'Malley won that fight. Not a high note ending for #UFC306.
