Andor has me excited about Star Wars for the first time to since I was a teenager. I love how petty and incompetent and miserable the empire is.

I love how not-special the rebels are. I love that the Empire will lose to this group.

Ebola is not airborne Diego Bassani, PhD. It is a serious virus to be dealt with seriously, but there is no need to panic (panic doesn’t crate a good place to act from) and it’s certainly not good to stoke unnecessary fears about ways it does not transmit.

In terms of mass transit, I see the almost no masking on planes, very little on subways, and more on a bus line of moslty poor workers

WALGREENS SARS INDEX: we are still in the most prolonged surge of SARS 2 in pandemic history. While we have trimmed down some of the positivity percentage we still remain strongly above 20%. When the pandemic started, anything over 10% was considered all hands on deck!

Dr. Fauci, was it a mistake to try and save so many children, parents and school staff from being hospitalized and dying of covid?

And after months upon months of downplaying the virus we are moving into a new phase: people who refuse to participate in pretending the pandemic is over will now be targeted and mocked relentlessly into submission into this new paradigm.

...it's bc Van Gogh has the gravitational pull of capital. As one of the most valued dead artists in history, his capital has enormous gravitational pull. It can pull political actions, news coverage and culture right towards it in a way objects imbued w less capital cannot.

One more analogy of capital and gravity: Around the world, everyone has heard about the sunflower action.

This is not bc of the (possible) harm to something beautiful. Beautiful things are destroyed all the time -- tress, buildings, people, animals...

I've only had one boyfriend of any length of time, he's never used any social media, I think that was a big draw for me (also, he did a killer impersonation of Amy Goodman), we are still friends by long distance old school email and phone calls

The Underground Railroad. One of the most profound works of American art I've seen. Not even sure it was a TV show, more like 10 films ranging from 17 to 90 minutes in length. And other than professional film critics, I don't know a single person who say the whole thing.

Indeed, worth watching until the end. I especially appreciated him saying he felt nervous. I could never, so brave and so principled. (And the fist bump!)
