The Lagos-Argungu Motor Rally would have been 50 years old last year. And the UNESCO-recognized Argungu fishing festival (in the Matan Fada River), founded in 1934, should have celebrated its 90th anniversary this year. Sadly has held just once (2020) in the last 15 years.

In 2020, just as Covid began to shut the world down, the Argungu Fishing Festival enjoyed a short-lived revival, holding for the first time since 2009 Same with Argungu Motor Rally - an edition took place from Abuja to Argungu. (The original rally, est 1973, was Lagos—Argungu)
