At the risk of appearing too Lib Dem, Tim does have a point here. The Lib Dems won more seats than the Tories. They deserve a bit of air time to crow about it. To extrapolate Suella Braverman, it looks like they got out of the Tory hole they’ve jumped in nearly a decade ago.

Maybe she’s building a tunnel to Ireland instead of Boris Johnson’s bridge? Kinda like traditional values in a modern setting. In that way, you could say she’s trying to unify her party at a critical time in their history. I mean, every tunnel has light at the end of it.

Many friends in the West Midlands believed Tory promises about levelling up. Sunak betrayed them. He dropped levelling up. He ideologically opposes an industrial strategy and cut spending to make paltry tax bribes. He owns this defeat.
