It’s the last weekend to see ArtJohn ‘s excellent installation in the Red Box Gallery, Horbury!

At Hardwick Old Hall.

That was excellent! Day 2 of #TheHatchling. Massive congratulations to everyone from Wakefield Council OurYear2024 and all the artists and community groups involved.

An excellent time viewing the tapestries at Hardwick Hall today. Seriously impressive. However - I was taken by this. Definitely a contender for the ever popular folder marked ‘Lion? Of course I’ve seen a lion - lied the artist’

Out along the River Calder around Newlands.

We’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel today’s event. The gusts at Pugneys are stronger than forecast his morning. This makes any performance involving the dragon or any of the entertainment activities impossible for us to deliver safely. We hope you understand.

It’s a shame but the whole project has already been a great success and massive congratulations to the team and all the volunteers who’ve made the past 2 days so wonderful! A brave decision and I know one that would not have been taken lightly.

The Hatchling was a brilliant piece of large scale interactive art. Thank you Wakefield Council OurYear2024 and all of the hundreds of community groups, venues and individuals who made it work so spectacularly well!
