OBJECT OF THE WEEK: Jenga (MB Games USA 1991) On display in our #IGrewUp90s exhibition, Jenga is a game of physical skill. It is based on a game evolved within her family in the early 1970s. The name ‘Jenga’ is derived from ‘Kujenga’, a Swahili word meaning, “to build”.

OBJECT OF THE WEEK: Focke-Wulf 190 Model This model, on display in our D-Day80 exhibition, is based on photographs of Lt. Leopold Wenger’s FW 190, part of IV Gruppe, SKG10 that attacked Torquay on 23rd May 1943. The fighter-bomber is shown carrying two 250kg bombs.

The handle of this silver and agate letter opener is decorated with a view of #Torquay Harbour and was made in Birmingham by Taylor and Perry in 1840. It is marked by the retailer James Braham of 8 Strand. The end cap lifts to reveal a compartment for holding stamps. #Marble
