Bobby Sands began his hunger strike 43 years ago he was 66 days on hunger strike nearing the end of his life by this time. I heard the news from a radio that was smuggled into the jail an eerie silence descended throughout the wing as the radio said our comrade Bobby had died.

Meeting to remember Pat Arrowsmith who passed away in Sept. In 1979, a 25-year-old Irishman wrote to thank her for her solidarity.

His name was Bobby Sands.

Tonight the letter was presented to Francie Molloy MP. As per Pat’s wishes it will be entrusted to the Bobby Sands Trust.
