I do have my doubts about Rishi, but he has made some good cabinet appointments so far. Good to see Wallace stay in Defence and Braverman back at the Home Office

I will always prefer a Conservative government over a disastrous, job destroying Labour one.

Sometimes in life, you just need to take a step back and take some time out from Twitter. I’m going to do just that.

I’ve felt frustrated at times lately, I’ve felt as if things were slipping away that I cared about, and in doing so, I’ve let that get to me way too much on here.

Everyone knows my loyalty to Boris Johnson. Twitter is full of people who will never understand why so many people like him, even love him. They do so because he reflects the optimism and pride in community and country that they feel, and because he gave them a voice.

It’s funny that many MPs now say we should unite under Rishi, but those same people refused point blank to unite under anybody else. Threatening more plotting, more games and potentially resigning the whip if the likes of Boris won.

Boris obviously had the nominations. The fact that so many conspiracy theories sprung up - spilling over into doubting the integrity of good people like CHH and Christian Calgie - sadly shows the relentless psychodrama that would have taken place were Boris to have returned.

Boris-supporting MPs (who roundly loathe Sunak) should do the right thing by backing Penny Mourdant and letting Conservative members choose.
That could be the only way to save the party.

If Penny Mordaunt made it through to the members’ round tomorrow she’d win. No doubt about it.
But that’s not what’s been decided.
Prepare for mass defection of any remaining Tory members. Good news for William Clouston SDP and Richard Tice 🇬🇧

There’s a massive storm about to erupt here, members denied a vote on the leader of the party & their Prime Minister … id expect another mass cancellation of memberships from the Conservatives party.

They are in trouble. Big trouble.

This is very sad news for the Conservative Party. So now we have a coronation of a losing candidate rejected by the membership just last month. I am afraid we are now inviting oblivion.

I would rather a general election now than have Rishi Sunak as leader of the party I have been part of my whole life, without it going to the members.

Boris bottles it.
Barring a major twist, Fishy Rishi Sunak will be the next Prime Minister.
No vote by Conservative members.
No democratic endorsement by the party grassroots who so overwhelmingly rejected him just weeks ago.
Terribly undemocratic.

Some people are endorsing Rishi Sunak, for a job in cabinet. That is why they make the announcement big and do media along with it, it’s transparent.
