Kickapoo freshman golfer, Caleb Kim had a terrific golf season earning numerous medals. 11-days after his golf season ended, he added to his medal collection earning the 4th place medal in tennis doubles at the state tennis tournament. Congratulations Caleb!!! Go Chiefs!!!
Owen and Lincoln scoreboard watching after today’s round. Well done men. I hope we can have a full team go to state next year. Go to work and get better every day. Go Chiefs!!!
Coach Jones is relaxing after a long day helping our golfers do their best. This was his first state golf tournament. Hopefully the first of many more. Thanks for all your help this season. Go Chiefs!!!
The Chiefs have finished their state tournament. Both improved from yesterday’s round and moved up the leader board. Lincoln shot a 79 while Owen turned in one of the best rounds of the day. He fired a phenomenal 2-under par 70. Congratulations Chiefs!!!
College coaches frequently attend state tournaments to watch current & future recruits. Today, Missouri State’s coach Neil Stafford, a Kickapoo alumnus, was in attendance. You never know who’s watching you play. I enjoyed chatting with Coach Stafford today. He said “Go Chiefs!”
Chief soph. Lincoln Swann qualified for his first state tournament. Today, during his initial round, he shot a nice 10-over par 82. He felt every time he made a mistake, it cost him strokes. A fabulous learning experience. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s 18 hole test. Go Chiefs!!
Owen plays the tough 9th hole laying up off the tee… hitting a terrific approach to 7’ below the hole and finishes the day with a terrific birdie putt to shoot a 4-over par 76. Way to go Owen!!!
The Chiefs dodged the heavy rains as they navigated their rounds today at the state championships. The ability to miss shots in the correct place enhances your opportunities for success. When you learn this course management skill, your scores get better. Go Chiefs!!!
The Chiefs have completed 9-holes at the state championships. You can follow their progress on the MSHSAA website with live scoring. Every three holes their scores are updated.
