Four new specialist nurses have been recruited to strengthen our Alcohol Care Team. A partnership with Turning Point Leicestershire & Rutland, the team at the LRI provides a seven-day service to support inpatients with alcohol-related illnesses, as part of our work to embed preventative care into our services.

A new treatment for patients with refractory angina has been provided for the first time by our cardiology service at Glenfield, to improve their quality of life. Coronary sinus reducer devices are now being used by a team led by Consultant Cardiologist, Dr Bhavik Modi.
