The really unjust thing about tuition fees isn't the fees themselves but a) the interest rate that makes paying it off virtually impossible, meaning it's essentially a tax and b) the subsequent refusal to admit it's a tax, giving grads a higher marginal tax rate than billionaires
A fantastic appointment! James was utterly inspirational and an amazing to me when he was Director of Music University of Glasgow. If it hadn't been for him, my life would be completely different; and I wouldn't have chosen to make being a cathedral musician my career.
Looking forward to playing this tomorrow afternoon, alongside Alexander L'Estrange New College Service, Roxanna Panufnik O Hearken, and Cecilia McDowall's Responses and Church Bells beyond the Stars! What a way to end a week of non-stop music for #SoundOfWells
What a spectacular cathedral in Wells! Not my 1st time seeing it, but it always takes your breath away. The WellsCathedralSchool choir was practising for a concert. A thrilling sound! It was a pleasure to perform in Cedars Hall at the school for an appreciative audience.
Tense scenes this afternoon with Panga (left) and Basil (right) in conflict over Wells Cathedral cloister territory.
We’re all very excited about this brand new post of *Schools Singing Lead* York Minster as part of the National Schools Singing Programme 🎶 ⭐️🎼 ⭐️🎵 Please share with those who may enjoy this opportunity! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ yorkminster.org/latest/job/sch…
Fantastic recital at lunchtime today by the Music at St Martin-in-the-Fields Emerging Artists in York Minster Chapter House. Great to hear almost entirely modern repertoire sung (and conducted!) with such clear vision and emotional impact, especially by a group of young professionals
Great turnout for my recital at Dunblane Cathedral today. Always a pleasure to be invited back, particularly this time with my very first piano teacher being my page-turner!
So proud of our York Minster Choir girl choristers leading the worship at tonight's evensong celebrating 30 years since the first ordination of women as priests in the @ChurchofEngland. For 25 of those 30 years York Minster has had girl as well as boy choristers. 😃 #YorkMinster
Lovely Lunchtime Eucharist today York Minster with 2 of the schools who have been participating in the Schools’ Singing Programme - totally joyful; thanks Miss Bels and Adam Wilson for injecting even more sunshine into the day.
