Today the world celebrates Mandela’s enduring legacy and today with the passage of the Illegal Migration Bill the world witnesses the sinking of the legacy the UK has claimed. Let us all choose to carry forward Mandela’s legacy.

For all our governments and all of us to watch, be counted and act. This is in our times. Thank you South Africa for this action and also for the lessons from your own historic struggle on the need to place the human rights of everyone at the centre of ending injustices.

These photos are from today. Families and children, returning to UNRWA schools in Khan Younis to seek "safety" and "shelter". The classrooms are torched. Walls are blown out. There is rubble everywhere. This situation is unfolding under the world's watch. Enough is enough.
