Very happy to announce the release of this extremely useful resource on all things spinal cord, including a chapter on neuronal diversity written by @ArielJLevine and myself, and countless brilliant names in the field. Thank you Michael Lane & Lana Zholudeva elsevier.com/books/spinal-i…
My last paper from Patapoutian Ardem Patapoutian lab is finally online today! This work was one of my first projects in the lab, but last finished and published 🏃♂️🏃♂️(1/8) science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
New preprint using FIB-SEM to study our sense of touch! This work is the result of beautiful collabs with FIB-SEM experts Shan Xu and Song Pang and segmentation masters Tri Nguyen and Wei-Chung Allen Lee @darbly.bsky.social. Thanks to all coauthors Qiyu Zhang 张祺屿 et al in the Ginty lab! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We are looking to hire a Research Specialist to support the lab in our early days Emory University. In this role you have the opportunity to help out with ongoing projects or lead your own. Check out details on the lab website and please share widely! emanuellab.com/positions
Where do new senses come from? In paired studies, we explore the structural basis of sensory receptor evolution in octopus and squid. @CoreyAHallard Wendy Valencia Ryan Hibbs nature - nature.com/articles/s4158… - nature.com/articles/s4158…
Excited to share our preprint from the Ginty lab Harvard Medical School and Sharma lab Columbia University. Big shoot-out to the co-authors (Michael Iskols and others whose twitter not known to me). We hope the DRG neuron genetic toolkit can be a useful resource for the field. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Graziana Gatto and I are organizing a #SfN23 minisymposium with a “behind the scenes” organizer, Victoria E. Abraira. We will be discussing early sensory (touch, itch, and pain) processing in the spinal cord dorsal horn. Come check it out! sfn.org/meetings/neuro…
So excited to be part of this! Thank you Seungwon (Sebastian) Choi 최승원 Graziana Gatto and Victoria E. Abraira for organizing such a fantastic mini symposium
In the new preprint, we found Krause corpuscles of the genitalia are vibrotactile sensors required for normal sexual behavior. It was a great collaboration with Michael Iskols Michael Iskols. He is going to be an MD/PhD student Tri-I MD-PhD in New York starting next month!
Come to our minisymposium Society for Neuroscience (SfN) on Monday afternoon and learn about early sensory processing in the spinal cord dorsal horn. A great line-up of young investigator speakers in the field! Graziana Gatto Anda Chirila Tayler Sheahan Manon Bohic Biafra Ahanonu 🇺🇸 and myself.
Excited to be at #SfN23 to catch up with old friends and make new ones. I will be presenting (along with destinee🇵🇷🇨🇴🧠) a project about measuring tactile responses in S1 during treadmill locomotion on Tuesday morning (poster board Z20). Hope to see you there!
Enjoyed the talks & discussion during & after the spinal cord #SfN23 minisymposium! Amazing work and exciting insights into spinal cord circuits and functions from Graziana Gatto, Anda Chirila, Tayler Sheahan, Manon Bohic, and Seungwon (Sebastian) Choi 최승원. And thanks to all the attendees!
