I think Google Maps is missing a trick. If I were them, I'd charge beaches and seaside resorts extra to be photographed on a nice sunny day so Streetview attracts more visitors for them.

Could someone in authority PLEASE set a legal maximum for how many different bins a household must use? We're up to 7 now and I'm struggling to remember what goes in which bin. I don't know where they expect us to put them all?

We're 23 days into June - could summer start now please? It would be nice not to need a coat with me when I go out of the house.

Is anything advertised on YouTube that's not a scam? It's all get-rich-quick schemes, dodgy health products and gambling ads. I'd love to think the click-through rate is appalling but I fear it's not.

What is this “great prose” we always talk about? One reader’s ‘purple prose’ is another’s ‘lush descriptions.’ One person’s ‘crisp sentences’ are another’s ‘dry prose.’ My theory: it’s largely subjective but no less real. Sometimes writing moves us. We know it when we see it.

Just ... don't.

Do you think Amazon will ever change their algorithm to stop recommending books we've written ourselves back to us?
