Pioneer takes game 1 against Milan 15-0 in 4 innings. SP Avery McEwen throws the 2 hit shutout and hits a Grand Slam! Lleyton Lage with 2 doubles and a 3 hit game.

Pioneer completes the sweep of Milan with an 11-1 victory in game 2. SP Elliott Pike with the win (3ip, 0ER, 2H). Back to back HR’s by Avery McEwen and Lleyton Lage Multi-hit game for McEwen, Lage, Tys Verhey-Henke, AJ Karsch & Nate Zumbrunnen

2 great team wins at our home opener!! Game 1: Pitching: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 5K, 0BB, W Hitting: 2-2, Grand Slam, 5 RBI Game 2: 2-3, HR, 3 RBI

Lets Go!!! 7-2 Victory over AA Skyline!! SP Avery McEwen has himself a day on the mound (CG, 3H, 2ER, 3K) & at the plate (3 hits -2 doubles). Owen Swaney w/2 hits, Braelyn Penn with an RBI triple and Nathan Zumbrunnen with an RBI single & a solo Zum-Bomb!!

Nate Zumbrunnen with another CG shutout!! (7ip, 3H, 10k). Avery McEwen with the grand slam & 5RBI’s. Adam Adair with 3 hits & AJ Karsch with 2 (2B, 1B). Pioneer defeats Monroe 8-0 in game 1 of the SEC Red doubleheader.

Avery McEwen (7ip, 5H, 1 ER, 6k) gets the CG win in the back half of the doubleheader with Monroe. McEwen helps his own cause with 2 hits & Elliott Pike chips in with 2 hits & 2 RBI’s. Pioneer wins 9-1. Series finale at Pioneer Wednesday.

Another strong outing for SP Elliott Pike (5ip, 4H, 2ER, 4K) leads the Pioneers to a 7-2 victory and series win vs Skyline. Lleyton Lage (2ip, 0H, 1K) solid in relief. Avery McEwen with a 2 run double to break the 2-2 tie in the 5th.

It’s a Sweep! Tys Verhey-Henke (4ip, 2H, 0ER, 2K) gets the W in game 3 vs Bedford as Pioneer wins 6-1. Avery McEwen goes off offensively (3-3, triple, RBI) as the Pioneers win their 8th in a row to improve to 18-9 on the season.

Senior Day!! Come out to the ballpark and celebrate our seniors in a DH vs Adrian. Game one starts at 11:00. Adam Adair, Ewan Lemens, Griffin Siersma, Lleyton Lage, Caleb Lorenz, Owen Nesbit, Avery McEwen, Tobin Tuzinsky, Nate Zumbrunnen & Tys Verhey-Henke. Go Pio!!

Highlights from the district semifinals win over Saline: WP Nate Zumbrunnen (6ip,6H,1R,5k). Adam Adair closes the 7th. 2 hits each by Adair and Zumbrunnen and a first inning 2 run HR by Avery McEwen. Pio wins 5-1!!

District Championship highlights: SP Avery McEwen goes 7 innings , scattering 7 hits and 2 runs with 6k’s. Elliot Pike gets the win with a perfect 8th. Nate Zumbrunnen goes 3-3 at the plate with 2 RBI and Adam Adair walks it off with a sac fly to score McEwen!!

Congratulations to seniors Avery McEwen (infielder), Lleyton Lage (outfielder), and Nathan Zumbrunnen (pitcher) for being selected to the MHSBCA All-District team!! HC John Knorr was also selected as the All-District coach.
