We have been busy with more seal callouts. This little one was picked up from Pakefield and vet checked before spending a night being cared for until he was transferred to East Winch, named 'Freddie' after a little boy we met on the way. 🤞for all our BDMLR Seal pups

This little pup was rescued from Old Hunstanton a few days ago and due to no space for rehab BDMLR medics took him to a vet for assessment and treatment before caring temporarily overnight. He has since been moved on for temporary care until rehab space is found. Photos by Medic

After a successful training course at West Runton for new marine mammal medics over the weekend, 2 more seal pups were saved from Covehithe and Pakefield and taken to RSPCA East Winch. Sadly others were not to be saved. Thank you to West Runton Beach Cafe. Well done BDMLR medics

3 more common seal pups have been picked up during the last week. After 5 nights and 6 days this little guy has finally got a space at RSPCA East Winch. Hopefully after our @bdmlr medics have cared for him temporarily he can continue to recover and be released in a few months

#Seals in #Norfolk are monitored by many rescue groups. When needed they are either put to sleep to prevent suffering or brought in to RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre for vet care. this pup has just been put in the sea by tourists, despite being told to leave it, outcome of death is likely 😡😢

3 common seal pups have been rescued by medics this week. In other parts of the country we are rescuing grey seal pups. Please help us to keep them all safe from disturbance to avoid the wildlife hospitals being overwhelmed #sealpups #BDMLR #volunteers #rescues #marinelife

Our first 'whitecoat' grey seal pup rescue of the season. This poor little one must have been separated from mum and was found at Hopton on Sea. Thankfully we got there before high tide and it is now being cared for @rspca_east_winch. Well done BDMLR and Marine & Wildlife Rescue

My first BDMLR call out of the year- taking this lovely grey seal pup from her unusual choice of resting spot in the middle of Ipswich off to RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre- fingers crossed for her!

These 2 lovely resting moulting pups were reported to BDMLR yesterday. Thankfully we relocated one to safety but the other looked very settled where it was. Please remember to keep dogs under control on our beaches to avoid disturbing them #dogsonlead #sealdisturbance

The grey seal pups are getting bigger and stronger now but may just be resting on our beaches. Some are injured or poorly too. These 2 were both lifted in Suffolk by BDMLR medics and needed rehab. @bdmlr ShingleStreeters #Felixstowe

This lucky seal was rescued by BDMLR medics from between boulders at Corton. She had infected wounds and laboured breathing. Thankfully she is now safe at RSPCA East Winch, as it would have been really tough for her out there today.

In the last 3 days volunteer @bdmlr medics have rescued 3 grey seal pups and checked on lots more in Suffolk. Storms have caused them to be injured, exhausted or found in strange places. Please remember they may look cute but they can be very distressed if they are disturbed

In the spirit of cross-property working, some of the team headed up to see our friends Dunwich Heath yesterday to help erect some fencing. No, you can't book them for your next DIY project :)
