We've been surveying Jacquinot Bay on the south coast of New Britain. Deep-water ringed by mountains it's akin to Silur Bay in New Ireland. We've seen Dwarf Sperm #Whales and plenty of dolphins but none of the rafting petrels found in Silur.

The ten days we spent in default isolation on MV Strannik were surreal. Obs continued alongside news of the world outside succumbing to #Covid_19. For light relief you can check out what we saw eBird. E.g. ebird.org/australia/chec…

While our work is still sadly on hold this is amazing news brewing in the Caribbean for another lost #petrel. Fingers crossed!
