With ~200 Black voters, not surprised to see support Trump high (18%) and Harris’ margin over Trump a measly +54. Considering Black people also trail everyone else in “certain” to vote - I’d guess sample (or weights) over-represents unlikely Black voters (less educ, young men).

As with other MAJOR issues, certain states might need to be regulated by fed law for the betterment of the country - e.g. desegregation, voting rights, same-sex marriage. So, just as in the aforementioned, w/o fed law it’s whatever means necessary to move us forward, together.

When you buy a gun, you’re shown pictures of gunshot victims. If your neighbor suspects you of buying a gun, they can call a hotline. If you’re from a state where guns are illegal, you can be arrested if you buy a gun out of state. Oh sorry, these are all abortion laws.

I’m betting Harris hits those historical PA averages for Black support, but her campaign is going to need to be in overdrive there as Black turnout in PA was at 70% in 2020, one of the highest turnout rates for Black voters across the nation.

With Virginia’s electorate almost as Black as North Carolina’s (21% to 23%, respectively), I hope Earle-Sears experiences the same fate as Mark Robinson & her campaign is put to bed by Black Virginians themselves.

Most polls won’t capture new registrants even though they’re very likely to vote - especially polls of likely voters based on past voting history. I’m working to add new registration data to the current longitudinal Black Voter Project survey to try and capture some of this…

Gives me hope that 2020 turnout numbers for Black voters are in reach. It’s a great sign that young Black men & women are inspiring by Harris enough to go out and register! (That simply wasn’t the case when Biden was the nominee.)
