College tip for instructors: Students shouldn't have to sit on the floor because of a lack of chairs. If you see gaps, have students close them so students coming late (usually traffic) can have a seat. You should ask who is enrolled vs crashing so crashers know it is full.

Early in the term, I like to invest in connecting with students. It pays off later! For ex, shy student who speaks up only once in class: write them! Thank them for sharing insights & say you hope they'll feel comfortable again. Students who feel seen prepare & contribute more!

In the first 2 weeks I learned that many students don't know they need to prepare for class, don't read the course materials to go to class with questions, & only take notes in class. They aren't coming to college understanding how to learn & engage in the classroom.

Are there people who actually like to use Microsoft Copilot ? I have spent over an hour generating ideas for it to say I timed out & needed to login. I am logged in. There is no record of the chat. Can't print, copy, or save. 🤷‍♀️ Is it user error? Going back to ChatGPT.
