#ica24 Yesterday, Matthew Weber and I found the perfect spot to prepare ICA Comp Methods’s Business Meeting. After two years of chairing the division I happily hand over to him today. 😊🤝 It’s been an honor to serve such a vibrant and supportive research community!!!

Huge thanks to my supervisor Hajo Boomgaarden for presenting our paper on topic model validation methods at #ICA24! 📄 Our review of 792 studies highlights the absence of standardized validation practices and promotes qualitative validation to improve research credibility. 🌟

With Matteo Magnani we proposed a special issue on network polarisation. There is a lot of amazing research going on and it would be nice to have it all connected together. Deadline for submissions: March 31 2025, abstracts as expressions of interest: Oct. 31 2024.

🗳Democratizing Democracy Research🗳 #MEDem will enhance the accessibility 🗝️ & reusability 🔄 of cross-national quantitative data collections. By harmonizing 🎶 these datasets & enabling interoperability 🤝, we will allow for seamless data linkage 🔗.

My suggestion for the weekend: Relax a bit, have a good coffee/tea, then: write 400-500 words on AI and disinformation, submit the abstract for our special issue JMCQ (SEP 1).
