We will temporarily shut down the Plume Hunters Camp spur from 11:30 a.m. to about noon while ignition is underway. The main boardwalk stretch from the Plume Hunters Camp spur to the wet prairie overlook will remain open, with staff managing the flow of visitors. #prescribedfire

Wood Storks are having some success at Lenore Island in the Caloosahatchee River and BC-29. However, this season, no wading bird nesting activity has been observed at the historic Corkscrew colony due to high water levels. Read more: corkscrew.audubon.org/news/wood-stor…

We need a veto. The "Taking of Bears" law is likely unconstitutional, unnecessary, and dangerous. We need broader adoption of solutions for living alongside FL bears, instead of legislation encouraging individuals to open fire in Florida neighborhoods. act.audubon.org/a/bears

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary received 17.72 inches of rainfall in June 2024, making this the 8th rainiest June since 1960. Water levels rose just under four feet between June 11 and 14. corkscrew.audubon.org/news/june-rain…
