It's pretty bad that this entire stretch of Aliceanna has zero crosswalks. Perhaps they're waiting on an imminent repaving or construction project, but otherwise how does one go about getting this done? Zeke Cohen

If this country were serious, we’d have bullet trains running every 15 minutes along this corridor, with regional trains and urban rapid transit seamlessly connecting you to your final destination.

France is spending $290M to make a 2,000-year-old city of 2 million people 100% bikeable by 2026. For comparison, this is slightly more than the cost of replacing two freeway interchanges in Berkeley, California.

If we are serious about building 3 million housing units as a country—and I hope we are—this is what needs to be legal in every neighborhood.

Not surprising in a city so accommodating to the car that getting a crosswalk often requires communities to jump through many hoops, wait months for approvals and get the money to pay for it. Says a lot thebaltimorebanner.com/community/loca…

It should not take a year and a half to get a crosswalk installed. Period. The current system replicates inequities and leaves residents frustrated. I ran for Council President because Baltimoreans deserve great city services no matter where they live. thebaltimorebanner.com/community/loca…

Two constants: Drivers attending community meetings to oppose traffic calming claiming ADA concerns and Drivers blocking all pedestrian access including ADA access

Unfortunately, we were right. Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City DOT are presenting a plan tonight that calls a bus lane on North Ave a "trail." This proposal violates city ordinance and two citywide adopted plans: the Baltimore Green Network Plan and the Separated Lane Network Plan.

This is really a silly argument, you already can’t see Fed Hill from street level along most of Pratt and Light. But you can see it along the promenade, the views from which will still be the same under MCB’s proposal.

A temporary stop sign has been installed by Baltimore City DOT at the intersection of Bank and Caroline Streets, where 44 yr old Elhadji Toure was struck by a driver and killed while riding his bike. Big thanks to Mark Parker and Zeke Cohen for advocacy on a safety improvement.

Dedicated bicycle infrastructure was slated to come to Bank Street by 2019 in adopted city plans. It never happened. Southeast Baltimore needs an all-ages, high quality east-west bicycle connection, and we will work with Mark Parker and Jermaine Jones to get it done.

Add to the list: A pedestrian struck in front of City Schools HQ this morning (red light camera requested since 2022) A scooter rider struck at Howard and North

Thank you Baltimore Banner for this video. "Designed for commuters, not pedestrians". Forget about crosswalks w/o a light, cars don't even think about stopping. Remove parking, add congestion fees and car free zones. Driving downtown should be a pain. Make the choice easy.

We’ve captured the splitting image of Slh1: our work on an enzyme that splits collided ribosomes in E. coli is out on bioRxiv! Huge thanks to the Beckmann Lab, Burroughs, and Aravind for a great collaboration. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
