So wowed by Erica Berry’s Wolfish. Just finished this deeply interesting (and researched) look at fear (and of course wolves), that somehow easily weaves together memoir, culture study, the environment, nature and science.

You should read it for the wolfisms (my term, not hers) alone – “entre chien et loup” (The moment it’s not dawn or dusk) or “Quand un parle du loupon on en voit la queue” (a wolf-y ‘speak of the devil’) – one of the many elegant ways she shows how fear manifests in our everyday
