Incredible found essay by the great Brian Benson in Bending Genres LLC, collaged with quotes from abusive men who center their own victimhood (cw: that!)

Ahhh, this! I remember working rurally after grad, feeling very isolated + jealous of friends in glossy media internships, deciding I might as well make myself a syllabus of old episodes for long solo walks on dirt roads. Guess what? It was great. I owe Longform Podcast so much.

'At one point, I eavesdropped as one scientist leaned in to whisper a question to another: What is the purpose of a river?'

I grew up a few streets away from here, and remember trick-or-treating at Ursula's house. So very glad this house will be preserved for other thinkers and writers carrying on her incomparable spirit ✨

I love so much about the moments of day I steal away to read Joanna Biggs’ ‘A Life of One’s Own,” but this—on Zora Neale Hurston—esp resonates as I think about a busy summer, and the importance of finding time not just to write, but to rest

A brilliant person I know (who doesn't have many pubs, came from art world) wrote an absolutely fire short story about a Georgia O'Keefe impersonator and asked me where to submit it. I am dumb to short fiction game. Do any lit mags feel like A+ fit for wry art-y stories?
