Incredibly excited to share our work & to be featured on the cover of Science Advances ! With Michael Levin @kaplan_lorax Megan Sperry & the team, we were able to kickstart long-term limb regeneration in non-regenerative animals. Check out our work here ➡️tinyurl.com/7ft8kdws
Super happy to see our #bioelectric #cancer work moving towards human: mdpi.com/2072-6694/14/6… - electroceutical candidates for glioblastoma. Lots more to do! Juanita Mathews fabfems.org/users/juanita-… , Franz Kuchling Jen Pan, David Baez-Nieto, Miranda Diberardinis
Our most recent paper with the wonderful Chris Fields and Michael Levin is out! mdpi.com/1099-4300/24/5… It shows how systems with metacognitive capabilities, based on a structural definition of metaprocessing and mathematical and computational observations, emerge naturally!
This article suggests that green-blue algae are photovoltaic and could be used in alternative batteries. The latter is most likely unrealistic, but I wonder if other symbiotic organisms evolved to use their electron output, e.g. coral reefs?Michael Levin sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
New preprint: active inference, morphogenesis, and computational psychiatry! Leo Pio-Lopez, Franz Kuchling, Angela Tung, and Giovanni Pezzulo psyarxiv.com/4gp6c/
New preprint! 🎉 Cognition is a multiscale web of dynamic information processing (neural & immune), distributed across complex cellular and network systems, operating across the entire body, and not just in the brain Fab teamwork with Michael Levin 😎 psyarxiv.com/fgcy5
Official version is out: frontiersin.org/articles/10.33… Léo PioLopez Franz Kuchling Giovanni Pezzulo Angela Tung "Active inference, morphogenesis, and computational psychiatry"
New preprint, primary data - really excited about it: osf.io/ps987/ by PhD student Angela Tung, former undergraduate Ananya Pavuluri, Megan Sperry Patrick McMillen Wesley P Clawson Vaibhav Pai Franz Kuchling + S. Bulatao, M. Yue, R. Martinez Flores. I present to you, CEMA:
Can algae be surprised? Apparently, yes; and they don't like it. New preprint is up, from Franz Kuchling's PhD work, with a great team of students: Isha Singh, Mridushi Daga, Susan Zec, and Alexandra Kunen: osf.io/preprints/osf/… "Uncertainty Minimization and Pattern
