🆘 #Gaza: Recent evacuation orders have resulted in the largest displacements since October. Many distribution points have had to shut down. Only a few bakeries remain operational. We urgently need increased deliveries of food and greater capacity to deliver hot meals.

Excellent Chatham House event last night. Particularly inspired to hear Sir John Major’s unambiguous message that protecting institutions and the rules based system is the bedrock of democracy.

🆘 Our worst fears in #Sudan are confirmed. Famine is found to be taking hold in Zamzam camp - home to more than 220,000 displaced people – in North Darfur. Across Sudan, nearly 26 million people are struggling to put enough food on their plates every single day.

It’s over 500 days since the start of the conflict in Sudan. A famine has been declared and 25.6million people are hungry. The re-opening of the Adre crossing has been a crucial step, but a ceasefire is now critical to massively expand humanitarian access.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

For 500 days war has raged in #Sudan. It's led to the first confirmation of famine anywhere in the world since 2017. 📣We're racing against time to help those affected by this crisis. A ceasefire is critical to save lives.

Many thanks to Alberto Lidji for giving me the opportunity to talk about the gap between humanitarian needs & available resources on 'Do One Better'. It's never been more urgent to think about doing things differently - acting early, preventing, anticipating and innovating.
