Well, to the vet we go again tomorrow. This time Smitty…my buddy isn’t looking good 😢

Smitty goes to vet at 2:30. Today his eye is swelled shut. He acts like he’s starving but only eats a little. I gave him a 1/2 can of chicken and he ate all of it. So wondering if he has an infected tooth 🤔

Smitty update: His eye has a scratch on it; salve for that. Urinalysis shows UTI. Was given an antibiotic shot. Vet felt pills would upset his stomach & he’s already lost 1/2#. Kidney function down, but she said he’s 15,so…UTI could also be a part of that. 🙏#dogs #mybuddy

SMITTY’s progress: this morning I was very worried. He would not eat and acted confused. I tried chicken for lunch and he ate a good amount and more at supper. He ventured out to the shop to visit the Princess beagles. Hoping for better day for him tomorrow. Salve helping eye!

Smitty would not eat this morning, so started to think this is more than UTI. He acted like he wanted to eat. Went to store on lunch and bought him canned food. He ate a can and a half! This evening he was barking & wagging tail. Praying it continues!

Smitty update! He is doing so much better so far! Eating, barking, and visiting the beagle princesses! Now, he is itching a lot. Not sure if antibiotic causes that. May need another call to the vet #dogs #dogsofx

Hi Friends! Smitty had to do another course of antibiotics. The shot helped and then started to regress. Seems much better now! Josie is doing great! Kimber and Chester have been great siblings. Hope you’re all doing great!
