One of the greatest things to witness during preseason S&C/drop-ins is watching seniors guide, help and coach underclassmen knowing they will eventually be the ones to do it in the future.

What are some of reasons why HS soccer or even HS sports are so special to you? I’ll start- There is no where else where you can replicate the authentic feeling of playing for your school/community that helped raise you into the person you are.

One of the saddest things to see is when clubs/organizations take credit for the accomplishments of student-athletes to try to gain clout. If the student-athlete wants to praise you that is fine but you shouldn't be tying your club/organization to their success. It looks pathetic

HS coaches- what do you think the best formula for you’ve with your team in advancing in your state tournaments at the end of the year? Did you have a lot of seniors? Was it underclassmen dominate? Good mix of both? Any other factors?

What age should games and trainings be filmed and broken down? Had parent of a u12 player tell me their coach asked all 15 players parents for $120 to purchase a Veo camera. Shouldn't the club be providing this equipment in the first place? This seems way too early but maybe not.

One thing club soccer will never be able to replicate is the authentic experience you get with high school soccer experience. Community, pride and something that actually means/tied to something.

I remember a D1 mens coach tell me in 2014 that he loves players who play high school soccer because, “the winning mentality they have and the hungry they play with” vs their club counterparts who will lose a club game by 3 and are worried about how well THEY played that day.

Parents- what factors drive you to have your student-athlete play high school soccer or opt out? If they aren’t playing, does the money you pay for high level club make you hesitant? Or is it simply the quality of the game?

Unpopular Opinion-When HS soccer is done right, it is more like a college experience than club soccer is. -Grades -Accountability for behavior in/out of school -Training/games 6/7 days a week -Meaningful games where every result matter towards something -Not everyone plays
