Our rapid assessment of the 21 April 2024 flood from Birendra Tal, west-central Nepal finds that the event was not a typical #GLOF moraine dam breach, but an overflow of lake water from displacement wave triggered by an ice avalanche from Manaslu Glacier. Read the findings here:
